Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. Rootwork is only offering Telehealth at this time. Clients usually meet weekly with their therapist, although a different frequency may make sense depending on circumstances.

Submit your information through the website, and Danielle will respond within 24-48 hours. We'll do a brief intake assessment via phone call to see if timing works for everyone, as well as other logistics. We'll schedule your first session at the end of the call, and meet to see if it’s a great fit.

Rootwork accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans in both Illinois & Michigan, as well as Medicare. "Superbills" can be provided for clients to submit to out-of-network insurance themselves for reimbursement. We also provide sliding scale options for a limited number of clients paying out of pocket.

Organization Trainings

Danielle presents on topics related to Social Justice and Trauma-Informed Care. She offer programs for groups through an intersectional, feminist lens. Rootwork has facilitated trainings with educators, nonprofits and other entities. Each training is tailor-made for the needs of the specific audience. Check out examples of programs below.

Holistic Support for Helpers & Healers

Originally designed for public school educators and healing professionals, this workshop supports participants in managing stress by using body-oriented techniques. These simple strategies can be applied with students or clients, too.

Using an interactive format, Danielle guides participants through practices like yogic breathing, gentle movement and mindfulness throughout the time together. We also explore the origins of these techniques, learn how stress responses function for everyone, and discuss realistic implementations of strategies.

Building Trauma-Informed Systems

Originally designed for nonprofit organizations working with vulnerable and oppressed communities, this training helps staff identify signs of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue. We explore strategies to manage high stress work environments, and balance the needs of both helpers and their clients. Organizations may also decide to examine the structure and policies that reflect larger problematic, societal dynamics.

Professional Consultation

Danielle provides clinical consultation for individuals and groups regarding trauma-related work, with over 20 years of experience in various mental health settings. She *loves* supporting professionals as they simultaneously help others.

There's a reason why we're in helping professions and it's often complicated. Self-awareness and reflection are key.

We need to do our own work, if we're asking clients to do the same.
